E-commerce leaders – Amazon and Flipkart have recently rolled out over 1.4 lakh temporary jobs. Yes, you read that right! Their festive sale that kicks off later this month has introduced vacancies across customer support, supply chain, and last-mile connectivity. This, in turn, has created numerous opportunities for their partner networks and vendors.
Amazon has confirmed the creation of over 90,000 jobs across its networks and centres pan India. Jobs are already out for metropolitan cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Pune.
Just like Amazon, India’s biggest online store – Flipkart claims to have added 50,000+ direct jobs. The openings have been introduced across teams like supply chain, customer support, and logistics arm.
“With new employment opportunities across geographies and the prospect of scaling the sellers’ businesses, we aim to stimulate local industries and foster the creation of a robust economy,” said Kalyan Krishnamurthy, CEO – Flipkart Group.
Just like any brick and mortar store, online shopping sites see a rise in their sales during the festive season, typically around Diwali and Dussehra. Online festive sales for these e-commerce sites are slated to begin in a week’s time from now. The six-day festive sale which will kick off on 29th September and will have around 6.5 lac sellers, which will generate multiple opportunities through their seller network. The e-commerce giants are all set to bring about a larger percentage of their annual sales.
