HR Tech 2019: Trends that’ll Shape the Future

Innovation in HR has added advantages; for one it has streamlined the complete enrollment process in terms of speed, accuracy, and cost. Revamping the HR model will see a definite drop in the manual operations. These can be canning piles of resumes, screening candidates and HR-candidate communication.

Last year, investors pushed around $3.1 billion investment at HR Tech 2018, for automation in recruiting. However, this year (2019) it’s expected to be huge. With the growing adoption of artificial intelligence tools in the industry, experts predict to see a 40% rise. This would be in terms of productive and healthy work-life balance.

Here are the following trends that are expected to shape the future for good.

#1. Improved recruiting experience

Since, 2019 will witness talent acquisition being completely transformed digitally. It will be all in job/candidate search, resume parsing, applicant screening to interviews. Everything will be digitized, giving both recruiter and candidate a fully immersive experience.

#2. Remote workforce

Lately, more and more companies have rolled out provisions for remote working and with technology being a key enabler, the trend has picked up rapidly. The concept of the remote workforce has not only cut down the infrastructure cost but has ensured increased and improved productivity.

#3. Robotic process automation

The talent acquisition process is exhaustive but artificial intelligence has backed technology as the pressure of time-consuming tasks in the manual processes of the HR department will soon be lift-off. The aim behind automating the entire recruitment process was to leave the employee with more time to focus on other important HR tasks like employee retaining and engagement.

#4. Employee wellness

Talent retention and engagement is a major task in the hiring process. During HR Tech 2018, most HR managers voiced concerns on how to avoid burnout or retain the employee. So, the basic question is – why do people quit? Do they quit the job or the boss? Perhaps, both; and the reasons are lack of mental and physical harmony, work-life balance among others.

2019 might see a majority of companies employing technology-based programs to boost emotional intelligence; thus addressing the personal, financial and emotional needs of their employees. Through data collected, they’ll be able to provide curated solutions like health check-ups, spiritual exercises to cope with stress and anxiety, health and lifestyle consultations, etc.

#5. Learning and development

Earlier, HR managers through regular pieces of training, workshops, assessment programs, and surveys would collect data in order to recognize employees’ skills, which they would then employ in building them as assets for the company. The AI-enabled tools will identify, assess, learn and develop from the data collected and would help companies develop employees’ soft skills such as collaboration and emotional intelligence.
